Who We Help

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone.

Child and Teen Therapy

Direct support for kids ages 6 to 18, with parents involved throughout.

Your child is struggling. You want to help, not just watch.

When a child or teen is dealing with anxiety, the whole family feels it. The avoidance, the meltdowns, the withdrawal, the quiet worry that this is just who they are. It isn’t. Anxiety is one of the most responsive conditions we work with, and kids change quickly when the right support is in place. We work with children and teens from age six through to young adulthood using structured, evidence-based approaches that build real confidence, not just coping strategies. Parents are involved throughout, because the work that happens at home between sessions is what makes the difference. You won’t just drop your child off and wait. You’ll be part of what changes.

Parent Coaching

You do the work. Your child feels the shift.

Your child doesn’t have to be in the room for things to change at home.

If your child won’t come to therapy, isn’t ready, or is flat-out refusing, that doesn’t mean you’re out of options. It means we start with you. Parent coaching is one-on-one support for you, the parent, working with a Registered Psychotherapist to understand what’s actually driving your child’s behaviour and how to respond differently in the moments that matter. Your child spends a handful of hours with a therapist in a month. They spend their whole life with you. When you shift, the environment they’re living in shifts with you. And kids feel that, even when they’d never admit it.

Anxiety and Confidence Therapy

For adults who are tired of understanding their patterns and ready to actually change them.

You’ve tried to think your way out of this. It hasn’t worked. There’s a reason for that.

Understanding your anxiety and being able to change it are two completely different things. Most adults we work with have done the reading, tried the strategies, and can articulate exactly why they’re stuck. And they’re still stuck. That gap between insight and actual change is what we work in. Our approach is structured and evidence-based, built to shift the patterns that drive anxiety and low confidence at the level where behaviour actually originates. Not symptom management. Not the same conversation on repeat. A clear framework, a clear map, and a Registered Psychotherapist who can guide you through both.
For clients in our Parent Coaching and Anxiety and Confidence Therapy programs, the Cognitive Freedom Program is our structured 12-week clinical pathway. Learn more below.

A Different Way of Working With Your Mind

Most people try to change their thoughts or emotions by managing them in the moment. Even with insight and effort, the same reactions often return when it matters most.

The Cognitive Freedom Program is built on a different understanding. Lasting change happens when you work with the cognitive and emotional patterns that shape your reactions beneath the surface, not just the reactions themselves.

This work is grounded in evidence-based practices and decades of clinical experience. It offers a structured, intentional process for people who are ready to move beyond coping and create lasting internal change.

The Cognitive Freedom Program

Stop managing your reactions.

Start changing the patterns that create them.

The Cognitive Freedom Program is a structured, evidence-based process designed to change the cognitive and emotional patterns driving your reactions.

By working beneath surface behaviors, the program creates greater emotional stability, clearer thinking, and more intentional responses to everyday life.

This is for people who want real internal change, not just insight.

A Structured Way to Change the Patterns Behind Your Reactions

The Cognitive Freedom Program is designed for people who feel stuck managing their thoughts and emotions and want a more reliable way forward.

Instead of trying to control reactions after they happen, this program helps you change the cognitive and emotional patterns that create them in the first place. The result is greater stability, clarity, and confidence in how you respond to everyday life.

This is a structured, evidence-based process for people who want real change, not just insight.

Other ways we can support you

Some clients begin with the Cognitive Freedom Program, while others prefer a more traditional therapy approach. We offer individual, couples, and family therapy to support a wide range of concerns in a collaborative, evidence-based setting.

About UsKiru Psychotherapy Clinic

You want more than just “coping.” You want real change — in your relationship, in your confidence, in how you show up every day.

At Kiru Psychotherapy Clinic, we help couples, families, and individuals across Ontario create lasting transformation, not just temporary relief. Our work is practical, deeply supportive, and tailored to your life so you can see and feel progress from the very first sessions.

We are a licensed psychotherapy clinic in Newmarket, Ontario, offering secure in-person and virtual therapy across the province. Every therapist on our team is regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and trained in evidence-based approaches like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — so you receive care that’s both compassionate and clinically proven to create lasting change.

Rebuild trust, deepen connection, and feel confident in every part of your life.

Individual Therapy

Evidence-Based Support for Anxiety, Stress, and Life Transitions

Sometimes the work begins with you.

We help adults manage anxiety, low mood, self-esteem challenges, and burnout using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches. Sessions are structured, goal-oriented, and focused on giving you tools you can apply right away — both in the moment and long term.

Couples Therapy

Rebuild Connection, Repair Trust, and Create a Relationship That Lasts

You don’t need to spend years in therapy to get back to feeling close again. Our licensed couples therapists help you move from conflict, distance, or betrayal into renewed intimacy and trust — often within the first few sessions.

Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we address what’s beneath the arguments, helping you and your partner communicate with honesty, listen without defensiveness, and create new patterns of connection.

Family Therapy

Support That Strengthens Every Member of Your Household

When one person in the family struggles, everyone feels it. We help parents, teens, and children (ages 6+) navigate conflict, emotional outbursts, and life transitions with compassion and clarity.

Our therapists use Attachment-Based Therapy and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy to rebuild trust, improve communication, and create a more peaceful home environment.
